Mr. Gary Wallace Secretary Constitution Party of Illinois. Letter to the Editor, The Telegraph, Alton IL, published Sept 8, 2002 The tragic loss of innocent life on Sept. 11 may have been prevented by one innocent individual slaughtered by abortion since 1973. God's person, who might have exposed the plot and saved nearly 3,000 loved ones, may have been thrown away in a dumpster ! Was the wisdom of American justice expressed in the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that " legalized abortion as the law of the land? " Most pro- life "experts", abortion mill protesters, and Christian Pregnancy center volunteers believe that until it is " overturned", there is nothing that we can do to stop "legal" , though ungodly abortion. Greg Moeller's article in the May- June " Celebrate Life" magazine says, "There's perhaps an even more tragic aspect to this issue, one born out of gross ignorance of the plain text of the Constitution, on the part of not only the American public, but even many pro-life legislators nation-wide." He points to a simple truth in Article 1, Section 1: " All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." He clarifies, "Legislative power is the power to make laws, change laws, change the meaning of laws, and eliminate laws.... All legislative power is vested in Congress, all of it. Period." " Federal courts, the judicial branch, have absolutely no legislative power whatsoever. They can't make laws, change laws, change the meaning of laws, nor eliminate laws (such as state laws prohibiting abortion)... to do any of these things, the courts would have to possess the legislative power vested only in Congress! " " Roe v. Wade is not a law at all, even less the law of the land.... It is merely a court decision, and like all court decisions, only binding on the parties to the case, ' Roe' and 'Wade', no one else." Article 3, Section 2, " grants Congress power to limit appellate jurisdiction of all federal courts.... Congress could specifically regulate the courts activity to preclude ruling on cases reflecting upon rights of states and local governments to prohibit and prosecute abortion." I've contacted local pro-life ministries. Read the complete article and the one by Herb Titus at www.constitutionparty.com. Urge your representative to legislate new bills to stop the killing !!!
